After The National Golden Gloves, It's Playtime At Scooters Jungle
Two of LAPD Foothill JEOPARDY program kids participated in the National Golden Gloves tournament in Nevada last weekend and the entire group went to Scooter's Jungle to let the kids get some fun and let them be kids.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jul 28, 2010 - 7/27/10, Valencia, CA. - Scooter's Jungle will be hosting kids from the LAPD JEOPARDY program, which replaced the D.A.R.E program 6 years ago, on July 27th, to give them a chance to play in a private, tropical themed environment. "Some of these kids would never be exposed to some of the things we do." Says, Officer Jason Gordon, who works out of the Foothill division for the LAPD. Officer Gordon has been to Scooter's Jungle as a guest and wanted the JEPOARDY kids to be able to experience a high quality, FUN facility. "This is exactly the kind of community involvement we like to support." Says Scott Greenwald, Regional Director of Operations for Scooter's Jungle.

The outing is the result of the programs desire to give kids experiences they may not otherwise get. LAPD Officer Gordon and his partner Jose Herrera get involved out of the desire to positively influence the kid's lives. The Foothill JEPOARDY program has a boxing focus where two of its kids recently traveled to the National Golden Gloves tournament in Nevada.

The JEPOARDY program is also looking into hosting a fundraiser at Scooter's Jungle. The proceeds would benefit the JEPOARDY program to help with equipment and traveling expenses. "We love to support the community through fundraising especially with the school budget cuts." Says, Anthony Munoz, Assistant Manager at the Valencia location. "Our Valencia location has been hosting fundraising for local schools in the Valencia area raising over $15,000 since 2009, and we are on our way to doubling that number."
